Madeleine - Costume Designer & Maker

In the first year of my bachelor's in Costume for Performance at the London College of Fashion, my project 'Madeleine' focused on developing my costume-making skills and techniques. I made a Victorian corset, bustle, petticoat, and bodice, which allowed me to diversify and adapt my skills and talents by having learnt how to adapt historical patterns for the creation of a period-accurate costume. In addition, I used this opportunity to develop a concept based on Marie-Guillemine Benoist’s Portrait of Madeleine, which informed the direction of my final costume photographs.
